Ultimate Custom Night isn’t your regular horror game. It’s a mash-up of chaos, strategy, and jump-scares, all tied into one massive fan-service-packed experience. Imagine trying to juggle dozens of deadly animatronics while keeping track of doors, vents, lights, and noise levels. That's the energy here—full tilt from the second you hit start.
Instead of a set campaign or fixed levels, you pick which characters you want to face. And not just a few—there are over 50 to choose from, each with their own behavior and tricks. It’s like setting your own difficulty, but with way more variables. You decide which animatronics to include, how aggressive they are, and then you try to survive from midnight to 6 AM. Sounds simple, but it’s anything but.
The graphics aren’t cutting-edge, but they fit the vibe perfectly—dim lighting, static screens, and creepy character designs that pop out when you least expect them. What really sells the experience is the tension. Every moment is about listening, reacting, and not slipping up. It’s less about fighting and more about managing.
What sets Ultimate Custom Night apart is the amount of control that players have over their experience. You can dive headfirst into a 50/20 challenge (which is nasty), or you can take it easy with just a couple of opponents. You get to decide. Quirky in-game challenges and cutscenes are also available for those who enjoy seeking out 100% completion.
This one’s aimed at fans of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, but even newcomers can give it a shot—it’s free on PC, after all. Just expect a steep learning curve and some serious trial-and-error.
Step 1: Download the game from Steam or Game Jolt. It’s free, so no account or purchase is needed. Once it’s installed, open it up and hit “Start Game” from the main menu.
Step 2: You’ll see the character selection screen. Every animatronic from past FNAF games is there. Click on any of them to toggle them on or off, and use the slider next to each to set their difficulty level (from 0 to 20).
Step 3: Once you’ve selected your opponents, hit “Go” to begin the night. You'll be placed in an office with several things to monitor: doors, vents, air ducts, and power levels. It’s all controlled from your keyboard.
Step 4: Use shortcuts: the monitor can be pulled up with “Tab,” the left door with “A,” the right door with “D,” the camera with “F,” and other tools using function keys (F1–F4). There’s a lot to remember, so check the “Controls” section on the main menu if you get confused.
Step 5: Keep an eye (and ear) out. Some animatronics rely on sound cues. Others attack based on your movement or how long you look at them. You’ll need to adapt on the fly.
Step 6: Survive until 6 AM. If you fail, the game restarts, but you can adjust your setup or keep trying the same combo.
Step 7: Complete in-game challenges for rewards and unlockable cutscenes. These are optional but fun for collectors.
