Granny isn’t your typical horror game. It skips the big-budget graphics and instead leans into something much simpler—and scarier. You wake up in a creaky old house, and there’s one goal: escape. The twist? A creepy old woman with sharp hearing and a baseball bat is hunting you. Make a sound, and she’s already on her way.
There’s no tutorial or warm welcome. You’re dropped straight into the mess. The house is packed with locked doors, hidden items, and tiny details that actually matter. What you do in one room might change what’s possible in another. It’s all about staying quiet, thinking fast, and moving smarter than the old lady stalking the halls.
The graphics won’t blow you away, but that doesn’t hurt the game at all. In fact, the dim lighting and clunky furniture add to the mood. The music (or lack of it) keeps you on edge, and the occasional loud creak or whisper will make you jump, even if you think you’re used to it.
Granny doesn't hold your hand. That's part of its charm. You'll fail—probably a lot. But each failure teaches you something, where she hides, and how she reacts. What sounds will lure her? It becomes a mind game: how long can you survive without giving yourself away?
There are a few difficulty levels too, if you want a bigger challenge—or if you just want to give yourself a heart attack. And once you’ve escaped, there’s a good chance you’ll want to go back just to see what you missed the first time.
Step 1: Start the game and choose your difficulty. If it’s your first time, stick with the easy mode. The game begins with your character waking up in a small room. There’s a table, a door, and silence. That won’t last.
Step 2: Move around using the joystick (on mobile) or WASD keys (on PC). Look around carefully. Many items are tucked away in drawers, behind boxes, or under furniture. But be careful—drop something, and Granny will hear it.
Step 3: Pay attention to the sound. You don’t have a map or markers, so noise becomes your biggest clue. If you hear footsteps, she’s nearby. Hide under beds or in wardrobes to stay out of sight. Wait for her to leave before moving again.
Step 4: Look for tools: hammers, pliers, keys, and more. They’ll help unlock doors or break boards blocking your way. You’ll need the right item at the right moment, so remember where you saw what.
Step 5: Open doors slowly and don’t rush. If you get caught, you’ll wake up again the next day—and you only have five days total. Each day, the house stays mostly the same, but your chances shrink.
Step 6: Once you’ve found everything needed to escape, head to the main door or car (depending on your chosen exit). If Granny spots you at this point, it’s over. But if you slip out quietly, that ending scene is worth the stress.
